If Stargate Was Made of Yarn by siniart If Stargate Was Made of Yarn by siniart
So, this is how big a geek I am. I crocheted a Stargate. First the TARDIS, now the 'gate. Need I say more?

For anyone interested, the diameter is about 18 cm, which is 7 inches or so. There's a fairly thick cardboard ring inside the stargate to keep it from toppling over and I used wire for the railings and chevron edges.

I couldn't help but play with photoshop for a bit and add the lights and even horizon to one pic. And for realism's sake there are a few untouched (save for contrast) pictures at the bottom... plus one picture with the TARDIS in it. Just because I felt like it :D

Now I'm getting the urge to make a tiny SG-1 and the rest of the gang...

P.S. Had a bit of trouble selecting a category. If someone can come up with a better one, let me know :D

Thank you. To quote my earlier reply below: I'm sorry, but there is no pattern, it was just made up on the go. It's just some dcs and scs crocheted around thick cardboard. The edge that separates the glyph area from the outer edge is made by crocheting in the previous round's back loops only. The chevron edges are tarn wrapped around some wire and twisted into shape.

Ha, I did start but ran out of thread and couldn't find more of the same anywhere in the shops, so SG-1 remains unfinished at the back of a box full of yarn in a cupboard. :D

Nice, very nice- but dangerous. There's no DHD! It's a trap waiting to strand random tiny teams!

You could just yank a piece of string that happens to be sticking out and the gate will spring to life :D

What, you mean dial out manually? I don't think dismantling the Gate is how you go about doing that.
I think you need to make a Naquada Generator. Just to be safe.

I'd like to think that in a world where the gate is made of yarn, other unlikely things are possible as well :D
